The best time to get a chemical peel is late fall, and November is the sweet spot. Summer sun is behind you, so freshly treated skin isn’t fighting UV exposure while it recovers, and there’s still enough runway before the December holidays for a full series to do its work. If your skin came out of summer looking dull, uneven, or rougher than it went in, this is the month to deal with it.
What summer actually leaves behind
Months of sun, heat, sunscreen buildup, and sweat don’t just fade when the temperature drops. By October, most people are looking at some combination of visible sun spots, a tired, flat tone, clogged or rough texture, and fine lines that look more pronounced than they did in May. Moisturizer can’t fix that, because the problem sits in the surface layer of the skin itself. A peel works by lifting that layer away in a controlled way, so the skin underneath — smoother and more even in appearance — is what shows.
Fall timing matters for a practical reason, too: peels make skin temporarily more sensitive to sunlight. In November in Ohio, you’re simply not outside the way you are in July, which makes the recovery window much easier to manage.
Why peels are a series, not a single appointment
One peel helps. Three peels, spaced three to four weeks apart, are where the real change shows up. Each session builds on the last, gradually improving the appearance of sun spots, dullness, and uneven texture in a way a single treatment can’t match.
The calendar math is the part most people miss. Start a series in November and your second session lands in early December, when the improvement is becoming visible right as holiday parties and photos begin. Your third session falls in January, which finishes the work and carries the results into the new year. Waiting until December to start means you’re mid-series at the parties instead of enjoying the results.
The three peels we work with
Sensi Peel — $100, 45 minutes. The gentle starting point, and where most people begin. It’s well suited to first-timers and to skin that tends to react, and it addresses dullness and mild unevenness without an aggressive recovery.
Ultra Peel — $130, 45 minutes. A step up in strength for skin that needs more work on the appearance of sun spots, texture, and fine lines. Most clients move to this level after their skin has been through a gentler peel or two.
4% Pure Retinol Peel — $175, 45 minutes. The strongest of the three. Retinol-based, it’s the choice for more established sun damage and texture concerns, and it’s reserved for skin that’s ready for it.
If you’re new to PLEIJ, you’ll start with the Sensi unless your esthetician clears you for something stronger. That’s not us being cautious for its own sake — matching the peel to your skin is how you get the result without the setback. You can see the full skin menu on our skin services page.
The November series offer
Through November 30, your first corrective skin service is $25 off — peels included. After that first treatment, if you buy the series, you take 10% off the series package. You don’t have to decide up front: start with one peel, experience it, and the series — with its 10% — is waiting when you’re ready. Every November peel series also includes a free French polish or Level 1 nail art with your first nail service booking — a small head start on the rest of the holiday list while your skin is in progress.

FAQ
Does a chemical peel hurt?
Most clients describe a warm, tingling sensation during the treatment that settles within minutes. The gentler peels, like the Sensi, involve little to no visible flaking afterward; stronger peels can involve a few days of peeling skin, which your esthetician will walk you through before you commit.
Can I wear makeup after a peel?
Plan on giving your skin the rest of the day bare. Most clients are back to their normal makeup routine within a day or two after a gentle peel, and a bit longer after a stronger one.
I’m new to peels. Where do I start?
With the Sensi Peel, in nearly every case. It gives your esthetician a read on how your skin responds, and it gives you a real result to judge. The series can step up in strength as your skin is ready.
