All extensions service require an initial consultation to understand and assess the condition of your natural hair, your hair needs, as well as your current haircare process. During the consultation, we’ll seek to understand your hair goals and whether you’re looking to add length, volume, texture, or some combination thereof which in turn will allow our professional to determine which extension method is best for you.
If you are experiencing thinning hair, excess hair fall, or hair loss, we recommend you schedule your consultation with our Ohio certfied trichologist, Tiché Florence. Tiché will work closely with you to assess the health of your hair and scalp, discuss possible causes for your hair related issues, before diagnosing and prescribing a treatment for reversing the process—ensuring that you remain comfortable throughout. You should come prepared to discuss (1) any health problems you are experiencing, (2) a complete list of hair and skincare products your are using, any medications and supplements you are taking, (3) as well as diet and lifestyle related questions. Do not wash your hair on the morning of the consultation so that we can see the hair and scalp in its natural condition.
HairTalk® Tape-In Extensions
hairtalk® extension services provide the ability to try out having longer, fuller hair with a shorter time commitment. These extensions offer the same flexibility and styling options as the hand-tied extension methods referenced below, but they are tape-in hair extensions. A great alternative to clip in hair extensions, these ultra thin adhesive band extensions last between 8 – 10 weeks offering the perks of long, full-bodied hair with a shorter time commitment, and they are entirely safe for your natural hair.
hairtalk® extensions are available as either 100% human hair, or a blend of temperature-safe synthetic and human Remy hair. With these you’ll be able to use normal heat styling products with no fear of damage to the extensions. The bonding tape is watertight, so you’ll be able to go about your normal day-to-day routine without worrying about loosening your extensions.

MicroLink (Strand By Strand) Hair Extensions
MicroLink Extensions feature microbeads that link the extensions to your natural hair. Each strand of extension hair has a link on it, through which your natural hair is inserted before the link is clamped down to secure each extension. Natural Beaded Row™ (NBR) Hair Extensions
Natural Beaded Rows™ Hair Extensions are an exclusive hair extension method created by Danielle K. White of DKW Styling. The hair extensions are placed in rows in the hair by creating a “track” with an exclusive bead and string technique. Wefts are then placed on the track and sewn in. SKW Hand-Tied Hair Extensions
The SKW Hand-Tied Hair Extension Method™ by Sarah K Wilks is an elite extension method that focuses on the health of the hair and scalp. It is the ONLY hair extension method developed by a medical practitioner. SKW is the first extension method to offer a traditional beaded and non-beaded track with the recent creation of the SKW slider. For clients it is the most comfortable and versatile method for hand tied hair extensions. The attachments are so light and there is minimal contact to the clients natural hair. Since the attachment lays with the natural fall of the hair the track can be flipped up with ease seconds after it’s installed vs waiting a couple weeks for it to grow out. It is also a fast method to install a lot of hair. Comparatively, with other extension methods it could take up to 10 hours to achieve the same thickness with a single stranded fusion method.

Which types of hair extensions are right for me?
We require that you come in for a consultation at which time our hair extension specialist will recommend the best extension method for your hair type. Afterward, we can purchase the hair for you directly from our supplier and set up an appointment time for you to come in and have your extensions installed!
NOTE: All hair and necessary accessories must be paid for at the time of consultation and/or prior to the day of your installation service.
What factors will my stylist consider when deciding which extensions are right for me?
When you come in for your consultation with one of our hair extension specialist they will consider the condition, texture and length of your hair. You will also discuss your “hair goals” and work with your specialist to find the best extensions to give you the look and feel that you want while maintaining the health of your natural hair.
How much will my hair extensions cost?
It is truly impossible to tell you exactly how much your extensions will cost without a consultation because there are so many factors that must be considered such as the type of extensions you need, the length you want, the fullness you want, which application method will be used, and the products you will need for maintenance.
It is safe to say that you should be prepared to initially spend a minimum of $800 for HairTalk® Tape-In Extensions, and minimum of $1,000 for NBR™, Tight-Line™ and SKW Hair Extensions. And this is not for those who do not plan on maintaining their extensions, which carries additional costs as well. Good extensions are not cheap, and cheap extensions are not good. That said, we guarantee you will leave looking and feeling fabulous, and you can not put a price on that now can you?
What type of hair do you offer?
At PLEIJ Salon we offer the highest quality hair extensions which ensures they will blend best with your own hair and thus look the most natural. We use 100% natural hair including a range of textures and offering both wavy and straight hair extensions. Our 100% human hair is known for its ability to maintain a radiant and smooth texture without using synthetic coatings like silicone.
Why do I have to have my extensions “readjusted”?
It is important to have your hair extensions readjusted every 6 – 8 weeks (depending on rate of hair growth) to prevent hair from matting, dreading or even tearing out. This can also cause breakage and compromise the integrity of your hair.
Your extension specialist will discuss a follow up appointment for readjustment before you rush out of the salon to parade your new, fantastic hair around the city.
What products will I need to care for my extensions?
During your consultation your specialist will go through the tools and products recommended for maintaining your extensions such as a proper brush that is gentle on the bonds while thoroughly detangling hair, sulfate and paraben-free shampoos and conditioners and a deep conditioning treatment. To ensure we set our extension client’s up for success, a hair maintenance kit is included in the price of our extension services.
How much care and maintenance is involved?
Hair extensions aren’t a breeze to take care for, but with the right products and reasonably small amount of commitment your extensions will continue to look and feel fabulous. Extensions are wonderful and fun, but they are something you have to work into your lifestyle. Whether you are willing to set aside a small amount of time every day to maintain their fabulousness or not is one of the largest deciding factors regarding whether hair extensions are right for you.
HAIR EXTENSION TIPS:
• Protect your investment by using professional extension care products to keep hair strong, healthy, and shiny.
• Tie your hair back at night in a loose ponytail or braid.
• Never go to bed with wet hair.
• Wash hair as often as necessary to keep it clean and oil free.
• Don’t allow hot tools such as curling irons to touch the bonds.
• Don’t use any hair products that contain oil, alcohol, or silicone.
• Never try to remove the extensions yourself.
• Brush hair thoroughly before every shampoo.
• Brush hair 2 to 3 times daily.
• Have all chemical processes, such as color or perms, done in the salon by a professional stylist.
• A silk or satin pillowcase will help keep your hair tangle-free.
• After application of extensions, do not wash hair for 48 hours. You must give double-sided tape time to stabilize.
