LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive light therapy treatment that reduces the appearance of agiing, acne, rosacea and helps to increase collagen production. It is neither a laser nor an IPL treatment. Normally combined with our facial treatments to help minimize fine lines and wrinkles, or assisting to naturally heal the skin without causing any cell damage. LED Light Therapy is a completely painless, pure non-laser light source that is not an ultraviolet or infra-red light.
Your initial treatment will involve a skin analysis and consultation. Depending on the condition of your skin and your concerns, you may require multiple treatments for best results. Thereafter, ongoing maintenance will give the greatest longevity and success to your LED Light Therapy treatments.
WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?
The majority of our clients feel an immediate effect from LED Light Therapy, but every skin type is different. Immediately after your first treatment, your skin will look clearer, brighter and smoother. You will feel a pleasant, light warmth under the mask as the light surrounds your face. It is much like lying on the beach for 20 minutes without the harmful UVA or UVB radiation. The LED Light Therapy treatment is very relaxing, with most clients falling asleep during the treatment.

LED Light Therapy has been developed to closely match key photoreceptors, excluding all unnecessary wavelengths and delivering a narrow and continuous dosage at optimum power. There is no photobleaching, sebaceous gland disruption or tissue hyperthermia as seen with high-intensity light sources and lasers.
Red light Therapy targets the mitochondria organelle within the cell. This chromophore is the energy power pack within your cell, thus the LED red light energises the skin allowing it to function with greater efficacy. It is great for accelerating the healing process, plumping/hydrating the skin from within and reducing redness.
Blue light targets the porphyrins within the P-Acne bacterium, thus destroying the acne at the source.
Blue Light Therapy at 415nm is predominantly used for its anti-bacterial properties and in the treatment of acne. The blue light emitted from the device is absorbed by porphyrin. The bacteria responsible for causing acne, P.acne contains abundant amounts of porphyrin and when the blue light is absorbed an oxygen free-radical is created which is released into the bacteria and results in bacterial reduction. The infrared light of 830nm that is emitted with all of the Opera LED light therapies reduces the size of oil-secreting glands that contain the bacteria. Blue light also has anti-inflammatory characteristics although the best results are seen when combining red and blue light for its additional skin rejuvenation and wound healing benefits.

DOES MICRODERMABRASION HURT?
