Similar to lash extensions, brow extensions involve attaching color matched synthetic hair fibers in this case to the eyebrow using medical-grade adhesive to add fullness (cover gaps of lost hair), correct shape, to extend the eyebrows, enhance, or to fully reconstruct brows with little to no hair. With lash extensions, you need natural eyelashes to attach the extension to, but with eyebrow extensions, the fibers can be attached directly to the skin or the eyebrow hair itself.
The hair fibers are different, too. With lash extensions, you have your choice of mink, silk, or cashmere—all of which are full and thick in appearance to mimic a mascara-coated lash. THE PROCESS
The entire brow extension process can run from 30 minutes to two hours and this depends on the size and density of the design. Each fiber is meticulously applied, strand by strand, with tweezers. Unlike lashes, where extensions are glued on in one direction, these strands follow the grow pattern of your brows and are placed in different angles to create the shape. The final result can potentially boast hundreds of fibers of varying lengths.
Your brow artist will clean the eyebrow thoroughly, and your natural eyebrow will be shaped as needed. To be certain your brow goals are reached, we typically outline a blueprint to add the extensions. Individual extensions are then strategically added to the brow space with a tweezer and glue in order to achieve the final brow shape.
If the intention is to fill gaps, the eyebrow extensions are put on the natural hairs in front of the gap to mask the vacancy of hair. If a client wants more volume, this can be done to some or all the natural brow hairs. When all the eyebrow extensions are applied, the tech will often use a small fan to ensure the glue is fully dry and comb through the brow with a spoolie to assess the shape. The eyebrow extensions are then cut down to suit the client’s brow shape.
PRE & POST-APPOINTMENT INFO
Eyebrow extensions require an in-depth consultation to set goals as well as determine the type of eyebrow extensions, density, color-matching, and shape the client desires. We encourage you to look for, save, and bring photos of brows you like to your appointment as this helps in our conversations regarding your designs.
If you are planning to get your brows shaped—whether it be tweezed, waxed, or threaded—the shaping should happen two to three days prior to the brow extension appointment. This ensures that there is no irritation to the skin and the desired shape is achieved as far as the natural brow allows.
Make sure to arrive with clean brows. We recommend you come to your appointment with a clean face and no makeup if possible. This is important as any oils or residues on your brow can impact the performance of the adhesive and the longevity of the service. You want to remove Remove all gels, powders, and pencils before your session.
And again bringing photos of brows you like as this helps in our conversations regarding your designs. You can expect to be at the salon for 1.5 to 2 hours.

During this session, we refine your brows to ensure they look perfect and retain their color!
Being gentle with the brows is the best and only way to maintain extensions. Not putting anything such as makeup or skin products on the brow also helps the staying power. Avoid scrubbing them when cleansing, applying brow products like brow gel, or using retinoids on the brow area.
