Environ Cosmetic Focus CIT is a small micro-needling tool that is ‘patted’ across the skin to boost the penetration of Environ’s skincare creams – it is a mini-version of the full-featured Cosmetic Roll-CIT.

Measuring just 5cm in length, the device consists of 15 micro-needles, measuring 0.2 mm, set in a 1.5 cm diameter head, allowing users to target specific, traditionally difficult areas to reach, such as the mouth, eye area and frown lines.

Customers wanting a full micro-needling treatment would better be served by the full-size Cosmetic Roll-CIT which has a greater micro-needle penetration depth.

When patted against skin’s surface, the Cosmetic Focus-CIT’s micro-needles create micro-channels in the upper layers of the skin allowing for improved penetration and enhanced absorption of their product’s active ingredients into deeper layers of the dermis.

Collagen and elastin are fibers that make up the supporting structure of the skin. Collagen gives skin its firmness while elastin keeps skin tight. Both of these fibers are plentiful in young skin and start to break down with natural aging and as a result of sun exposure.

While there are lots of collagen and elastin creams available these molecules are far too large to penetrate the skin. The only way to boost collagen and elastin in the skin is to turn on the fibroblast cells that produce these fibers. This can be done using cosmeceuticals containing prescription retinoids, retinol, alpha hydroxys or peptides and by having procedures like microdermabrasion, chemical peels and laser resurfacing.

The increased penetration of the vitamins, antioxidants and peptides into lower layers of the dermis leads to increased concentrations, and elevated fibroblast activation, which in turn enhances the natural production of collagen and elastin.
