Kitsch Pillowcases are made with their superior satin that reduces hair breakage and protects hairstyles, maintains moisture balance, and is machine washable. It’s soft on the hair, yet strong enough not to deteriorate through repeated washings.
Your hair comes in contact with one thing more than any other: “the pillowcase.”
Since the 1950s haircare specialists have recommended the use of satin pillowcases. Cotton may feel soft to the skin but its weave actually grips and tugs at individual strands causing damage and breakage. Furthermore, cotton is known to draw the moisture from your hair. Satin will keep your hair hydrated and protect against split ends. The effects of continuous contact with cotton pillowcases can tangle and ultimately ruin hairstyles.
Hair treated by bleaching, highlighting, coloring, chemical perms, relaxers, blow dryers, and curling irons are especially susceptible to breakage. For braided, chemically treated or normal hair, the use of a satin pillowcase…
• helps to minimize static and smooth frizzy hair
• reduces hair breakage
• protects against split ends
• helps maintain proper moisture balance and keeps skin and hair hydrated
• protects hairstyles
• eliminates most tangling
Keeps Hair in Place
Sleeping on a satin pillowcase helps smooth frizzy hair and minimizes static. The softness of satin eliminates the friction you get when your hair rubs against a harsher fabric. Another added benefit is that satin helps keep your hairdo looking fresher and less “slept on” in the morning. People who suffer from alopecia areata or side effects of chemotherapy find that sleeping on satin keeps their hair from coming out in clumps.
Eliminates Facial Folds
Satin is soft to the touch and allows your face to glide against the pillowcase. More abrasive fabrics, such as cotton, flannel and wool, can cause creases, lines and wrinkles to develop around your eyes, forehead and mouth. In addition, satin keeps eyelashes and eyebrows more intact as you move your face back and forth on the pillow.
Clears the Complexion
Satin pillowcases help keep your skin supple and allow your pores to breathe. Cotton pillowcases, on the other hand, draw the moisture from your skin as you sleep. Regardless of the type, change pillowcases every few days because the natural oils and product residue from your hair can clog facial pores and lead to acne.
