Description:

  • 1 bag of Whole Bean Upgraded Coffee (12 oz)

Recipe

1. Start with 1 cup (8 oz.) filtered water, just off the boil.

2. Measure 2 1/2 heaping tablespoons freshly ground Bulletproof Upgraded™ Coffee beans (approximately 2 rounded tablespoons per 6 oz. water). You can brew the coffee using your favorite coffee brewing method, however, we recommend a French Press for ease of use and to preserve beneficial coffee oils that paper filters keep out.

3. Pour in 1 teaspoon Bulletproof Upgraded Brain Octane or XCT Oil. You’ll learn much more about Brain Octane Oil below, but keep in mind that this stuff is powerful. Start with 1 teaspoon per cup and work your way up to 1-2 tablespoons over several days. (build up to 1-2 tablespoons over several days).

4. Add 1 tablespoon grass-fed, unsalted butter or or grass-fed ghee. You read that right. It says butter. Don’t worry. This mixture also makes the creamiest, most delicious cup of coffee you’ve ever had. Oh, and make sure your butter is unsalted. You don’t want salty coffee. See Why Butter Is Good For You.

5. Mix in a blender for 20 seconds until the oil and butter are emulsified so the drink is frothy and looks like a creamy latte without a film of oil on the surface.

Sourcing

Our coffee is carefully produced and lab tested using the Bulletproof Process™ to minimize toxins, so you can enjoy a pure cup of coffee worry-free. Upgraded beans are harvested in Central America from passive organic estates without chemicals (herbicides, pesticides, etc.). Each bean is hand-picked by experienced coffee harvesters – skilled people who only pick perfectly ripe berries. When the coffee beans are not carefully hand-harvested, the beans can be mistakenly picked unripe and damaged, which impacts the taste and can possibly affect the way it makes you feel. Most coffee beans are left in the sun to wither and dry, or by pressing them and letting them ferment (spoil) to remove the outer layer of the bean. Both of these processing techniques are known to produce significant levels of performance-robbing mold-toxins. After we pick the ripest cherries, we use the proprietary Bulletproof Process to create a special class of green coffee bean with minimized levels of harmful molds, bacteria, and toxins. The beans are then medium roasted in small batches in the United States under the strictest conditions, which minimize the formation of toxins from the roasting process. Roasting the beans enhances their naturally occurring antioxidant capacity and flavor to provide you with a cup of coffee that has a minimized level of performance-robbing mold-toxins.
